Early Years
Percy Harvin was born on May 28, 1988 and grew up in Virginia. He was a talented three-sport athlete and made it to state in track, racked up honors in basketball, and earned recognition on his high school football team. He was an essential part of the team's 14-0 record during his junior year; they also captured the state title seemingly without effort.
College
In college, Percy Harvin played for the University of Florida Gators. During his debut game freshman year, Percy Harvin caught 3 passes for 33 yards and carried the ball 4 times, leading the team with 58 yards. He spent three seasons with the team and ultimately chose to leave early in order to participate in the 2009 NFL draft.
NFL
The Minnesota Vikings chose him 22nd overall in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
Percy Harvin's rookie year could not have been better. Percy Harvin broke many team records and averaged 137.8 yards per game! Percy Harvin was Rookie Player of the Month by the NFC and Player of the Week. Percy Harvin earned Offensive Rookie of the Year honors from the NFL--the second Minnesota Vikings player in just three years to do so. Percy Harvin even earned a spot on the Pro Bowl--one of 10 Minnesota Vikings players to get a spot, tying the group record for amount of nominees from one team. Percy Harvin energized the crowd, wowed other athletes, and was an outstanding player every single week.
Personal
Yes, Percy Harvin is athletically talented. However, a string of run-ins with officials, marijuana use, and incidents of unsportsmanlike conduct since his high school years may pop as an issue in his NFL career.
