Mewelde Moore was born on July 24, 1982 and calls his hometown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Played four seasons at Tulane before being drafted in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

NFL

2006: Mewelde Moore is the Vikings career punt return average leader at 10.5 yards per return. Became the fifth Vikings player to break 300-yards in punt returns in a season. 2005: Was the only player to score by a rush, a reception and a punt return in the 2005 season. Became only the second Vikings to achieve the feat, joining Hall of Famer Hugh McElhenny. 2004: Finished third on the team with 379 yards rushing. Also logged 27 catches for 238 yards on the season. Returned 20 kickoffs for 386 yards and a 19.3 average.

College

Mewelde Moore became only the second player in NCAA history to rush for 4,000 yards and have 2,000 yards receiving in a collegiate career. Also ranks 11th in Division I history in all-purpose yards with 6,505. Holder of 22 games of 100+ yards rushing, a Tulane and Conference USA record. Has scored 36 career touchdowns, putting him second in Tulane and C-USA annals.

Personal

Mewelde Moore spent three summers in the San Diego Padres organization, as he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2000 Major League Baseball draft. Was a star player at Belaire High School in Baton Rouge. Was media All-State and 2nd-team All-State picked by state coaches. Ran for 1,600 yards as a senior. Was also a star baseball player in high school.
