Marcus Johnson was born on December 1, 1981 and calls his hometown Coffeeville, Mississippi. He played college football at Mississippi for four years before being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

2007: Marcus Johnson was part of the Minnesota Vikings kickoff return team that set a 24.8 return average.

2006: Marcus Johnson started the first 10 games of the season at right tackle. Helped Chester Taylor rush for 1,214 yards on the season, the fourth highest season total in team history. 2005: Played 14 games and started eight of them. Team averaged 102.2 yards per game rushing when Johnson played right tackle.

College

Marcus Johnson was a starter in every game of his four-year career, a total of 48. Was second team all SEC after his senior year. Was team captain before senior year. Protected Eli Manning from 2001-03. 2004: Started all 11 games. Did not allow more than two tackles in any game. Helped junior running back Vashon Pearson run for 807 yards on the year. 2003: Started at right guard in all 13 games.
