Khreem Smith was born on July 7, 1979 and calls his hometown Miami, Florida. Played college football at Garden City Community College before transferring to Oklahoma State. Was signed to the Vikings practice squad before the 2006 season.

Khreem Smith was promoted from the Vikings practice squad to the active roster for the 2006 season finale versus St. Louis on December 31. Made first career tackle in that game, which was also his first career NFL game. Was part of the practice squad for the first 15 games of the 2006 season.
