Jeff Dugan was born on April 8, 1981 in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Maryland where he played for four seasons.

2007: Jeff Dugan partipcated in all 16 games and gradually built up playing time with the Minnesota Vikings. Jeff Dugan is capable of being both a fullback and a tightend and he contributed to Adrian Peterson’s incredible first season.

Dugan’s NFL highlights include a 2006 season where he made the transition from tight end to full back for the Vikings after Tony Richardson went down with a season-ending injury. He helped Chester Taylor rush for his 1,214 yards in 2006, the fourth highest in single-season total in Vikings history. Dugan played a large part in Artose Pinner’s 125 yard night, the first start of his career, against Detroit on December 10. He caught his first career touchdown pass on November 26 on a three-yarder from Brad Johnson. 2005: Dugan played in only one game against Atlanta on October 2. 2004: Jeff Dugan played in 14 games, the third among Viking rookies, a rookie class that saw 6 of its 8 members start games for the Vikings. Dugan had a career-high 3 special team tackles at Green Bay on November 14. Jeff Dugan was selected 220th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

College

Dugan redshirted at Maryland as a freshman. He came back for his 2000 campaign and was named the team’s Freshman of the Year. He took over the starting tight end job after the season opener by coming off the bench his first game and catching three passes for 38 yards. He was second on the team with a career-high 25 catches for 319 yards and a touchdown. He had an outstanding game versus Middle Tennessee by posting 91 yards on five catches. 2001: Jeff Dugan started 10 games and was used primarily as a blocker. He was able to pull in a touchdown on seven catches and 64 yards on the season. 2002: Dugan started every game and caught 9 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. He was named an All-ACC honorable mention. 2003: Dugan earned second-team All-ACC honors on a season that saw him starting every game except when the team opened with three wide receivers against Florida State. On the season, Dugan recorded 14 passes for 175 yards, with eight of his catches setting up touchdowns for Maryland. In his collegiate career, Jeff Dugan amassed 55 catches for 649 yards and three touchdowns while starting 46 of the 49 games he appeared in.

Jeff Dugan attended Central Catholic High in Pittsburgh and earned all-league honors at both the defensive end position and the tight end position. Dugan also competed in the shot put on the track and field team.
