After playing college football at Idaho State, Jared Allen was originally selected in 2004 by the Kansas City Chief and signed a 3-year contract. Jared Allen was essential in rebuilding the Kansas City Chief's poor defensive line. He is remembered for catching a toudown pass against rivals San Diego and Detroit Lions. He led the NFL in sacks in 2007-2008--an impressive 15.5.
The Kansas City Chiefs played an $8.8 million dollar price tag on Jared Allen following the 2008 season. The Minnesota Vikings instead got a chance to sign him...and they did.
