More Info
Dee McCann was born April 24, 1983 in Lucedale, Mississippi. He attended Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. After earning all-state and all-JUCO honors, Dee McCann was ready for tougher college level play.
In 2004, Dee McCann transferred to West Virginia University, the same school of fellow Minnesota Vikings Dan Mozes and Darius Reynaud. Dee McCann saw quite a bit of playing time after West Virginia's cornerback starter was benched with injuries. In light of this opportunity, McCann made a name for himself by scoring interceptions, several fumble recoveries, and many tackles.
In 2006, Dee McCann was drafted 179th overall (6th round) by the Detroit Lions. The Detroit Lions released Dee McCann on September 2, 2006 to the practice squad.
After being drafted to the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, Dee McCann saw a little action. He was signed to the practice squad for the second half of the season.
We'll have to stay tuned to see what the future holds for Dee McCann on the Minnesota Vikings team.
