The 2008 season might finally be David Herron's chance to stick it out with the Minnesota Vikings. After David Herron entered the NFL as a rookie free agent from Michigan State, the Minnesota Vikings signed him in 2007. David Herron trained was the Minnesota Vikings over the summer of 2007, and then was released in the final round of cuts. After spending one week with the New England Patriots, David Herron returned to the Minnesota Vikings for 11 of 12 games on the practice squad. In December 2007, David Herron finally got a chance to play his first NFL game against the Washington Redskins and recorded a tackle.
