Darren Sharper was born on November 3, 1975 in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the division I-AA William and Mary to play college football. Was originally selected with the 60th overall choice in the 1997 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Was signed by the Minnesota Vikings on March 12, 2005.

2007: Darren Sharper was selected to the 2007 AP All-Pro 2nd Team and earned his
4th career Pro Bowl appearanace. Darren Sharper had 4 interceptions, which tied for the 2007 Minnesota Vikings lead.
Darren Sharper is tied for sixth in NFL history with seven career interception returns for touchdowns. Ranks tenth in NFL history with 953 career interception return yards. Was a Pro Bowler in 2000, 2002 and 2005. Has started 119 of 135 career games, making him the most experienced Vikings position player. Led the NFL with nine interceptions in the 2000 season and made nine in 2005 as well. Has scored nine career defensive touchdowns, seven on interceptions and two on fumble returns. College
Darren Sharper was an All-American free safety and return man at William and Mary. Was first team All-Yankee Conference three times. Set a school record with 24 career interceptions and a I-AA record with 468 career interception return yards. Was Yankee Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.
Personal
Darren Sharper attended Hermitage High School in Richmond, Virginia, where he held a 20-9 record as the starting quarterback. Was also an excellent basketball and track athlete. Has done work as a color commentator for NFL Europe in 2004 and 2005. Lives in Miami Beach during the offseason.
