Conrad Bolston
UPDATE: Conrad Bolston plays for the Green Bay Packers. Conrad Bolston was born January 9, 1985 in Burtonsville, Maryland. He attended St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C. In high school he played on both side of the ball as a tackle, averaging about 85 snaps a game. He led his team in tackles and sacks and was the best player on a defense that held opponents to only 14.5 points per game. Bolston was also an outstanding wrestler in his high school days, posting a 48-4 record as a junior. Bolston got offers to play football from Ohio State, Boston College, Florida, Tennessee and Penn State among others but chose to go to Maryland. As a freshman, Conrad Bolston saw some time in nine games and finished the season with seven tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack. He recorded his first collegiate sack in the second quarter of the Colorado game. In his 2004 sophomore year, Bolston played in all 11 games and started 10 at the defensive tackle position. He tied for third on the team with 2.5 sacks on the year and recorded 27 tackles total. He also posted five tackles for loss and hurried the quarterback five times. In the West Virginia game, Bolston had a career-high six tackles in his first career start. As a junior, Bolston started all 11 games at nose tackle while notching 38 tackles, 17 of which were solo. He posted career-highs in tackles for loss with 5.5 and sacks with 5 – the latter stat leading the team. On the season he led all Maryland linemen in tackles. Conrad Bolston’s senior year saw him starting nine games at defensive tackle and posting 35 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss. He was highly touted coming into the season, as he was listed by the Sporting News as the number 16 rated defensive tackle in the nation entering the season. He also was a preseason second-team choice by Athlon and The Sporting News. In 44 career games at Maryland, Bolston recorded 107 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.
