Ciatrick Fason
UPDATE: Ciatrick Fason will be a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. Ciatrick Fason was born on December 29, 1982 in Atlanta, Georgia. He went to the University of Florida before being drafted in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. NFL Ciatrick Fason was the first Florida Gator running back to be drafted by the Minnesota Vikings since Cedric Smith in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. 2006: The hard-nosed Ciatrick Fason’s best game came against the NFL’s most notoriously stubborn defense in the Chicago Bears on December 3. Fason rushed for a career-high 75 rushing yards on only 11 carries and scored a four yard touchdown. He also ran six times for 28 yards against Detroit the following week. 2005: Fason ran for four touchdowns on his rookie season, tying for fourth in team history for rushing touchdowns as a rookie. Only Fran Tarkenton, D.J. Dozier and Onterrio Smith had more with five. Consequentially, the Vikings went 4-0 in the games Fason scored in. He scored his first career touchdown on his second career carry against Detroit on November 6. College Ciatrick Fason attended the University of Florida and had an exceptional career. His 1,267 yards in his junior and final season at Florida made him only the seventh Florida player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Over his Florida career, Fason had an outstanding 6.0 yard per carry average and his final two seasons produced an average of 6.4 yards per carry, registering as tops in the SEC in that span. Fason played in all 38 games of his collegiate career while starting 15 of them. 2004: Ciatrick Fason was a starter in all 12 games on his way to first-team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press and second-team from league coaches. Fason was the SEC leader in rushing with 105.6 yards a game. He was the first Florida player since Errict Rhett in 1993 to lead the SEC in rushing. His 1,267 rushing yards ranks him sixth in Florida annals. He was the only running back to run wild on the Florida State Seminoles with 103 yards as no other running back broke the century mark against the powerhouse Seminoles. Fason blew up against Kentucky with 210 yards rushing, the most by a Florida Gator since Emmitt Smith tore up New Mexico for 316 rushing yards in 1989. 2003: Fason played in all 13 games while starting three, including the Outback Bowl against Iowa. He caught three touchdowns on the season and rushed for three more. Fason’s first career start at Arkansas yielded a pair of rushing touchdowns and caught one other on a dream game that included a 75-yard run, the longest since Emmitt Smith’s 96-yarder in 1988 against Mississippi State. Also had a huge rushing day at South Carolina with 190 yards on the ground. 2002: Ciatrick Fason played in every game as a true freshman and scored his first career touchdown in his collegiate debut against Alabama-Birmingham. Fason played at fullback for the final four games of the season. In high school, Fason rushed for 2,000 yards in both his sophomore and senior season, making him a consensus All-America choice. His 7,400 career rushing yards ranked him fifth in Florida high school history. © 2008 VikingsTickets.com Terms of Service |
