Charles Gordon was born on July 18, 1984 in Santa Monica, California. He played college football at Kansas before being signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2006.

NFL

2007: Charles Gordon played in all 16 games, including 3 starts, for both special teams and defense. By end the of the season, Charles Gordon had 15 special teams tackles in 24 games, which put him tied for 2nd on the team. His stand-out game happened against the Detroit Lions in December when he had 5 tackles.

2006: Charles Gordon made his first career start in a game versus the St. Louis Rams on December 31. He made a career-high eight tackles in that game. Gordon made his first career punt return versus the New York Jets on December 17. He forced a fumble on a kickoff versus Arizona on November 26. He played his first NFL game against the Green Bay Packers on November 12.

College

Charles Gordon finished at Kansas as the school’s all-time career punt return leader with 999 yards on 96 returns for a 10.4 average. He played for Kansas on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and cornerback. Gordon tied for seventh in school history with nine interceptions and was seventh in school history with 106 receptions.

2005: Charles Gordon started all 12 games as a junior and was sprinkled with All-Big 12 selections at his various positions. As a receiver, Gordon caught 34 passes for 313 yards for second best on the team. On defense, Gordon made 28 tackles and two interceptions. On special teams, Gordon returned 41 punts for 398 yards with a long of 54. 2004: Gordon was a third-team All-America selection by the Associated Press at cornerback as he led the Big 12 and tied for best in the nation with seven interceptions, the most by any Kansas player since 1951. Led the team and conference with eight passes deflected and intercepted two balls in one game on two separate occasions (Nebraska, Colorado). Gordon also played a little on the other side of the ball, catching 15 passes and two touchdowns and even throwing for a touchdown. Named All-Big 12 by coaches and media as a cornerback. 2003: Was an outstanding freshman at Kansas by setting school freshman records with 57 receptions for 769 yards. His nine catches at both Texas A&M and Oklahoma were freshman school records for Kansas.

Charles Gordon attended Santa Monica High School and was named Ocean League Player of the Year when he had 66 catches for 1229 yards as a senior. His single game high was 10 catches for 217 yards and four touchdowns. Besides football, Gordon participated in basketball and baseball, lettering in each.
