More Info
Brian Daniels was born on October 31, 1984 in Denver, Colorado. High school action saw him at fullback and tight end his freshman and sophomore seasons before he was moved to his more natural position on the offensive line. Rivals.com ranked Daniels as the best player in Colorado, the No. 4 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 44 overall player in the country in his senior year. He averaged six pancake blocks per game as a senior while not allowing a single sack. He averaged four pancakes his junior year and also did not allow a sack.

Brian Daniels enrolled at Colorado University at Boulder and earned first-team Freshman All-America honors from collegefootballnews.com and Colorado coaches named him the Lee Willard Award recipient as the team’s most outstanding freshman. He started nine games, setting a school record for the most by a true freshman offensive lineman, breaking the old record set by Clint Moore in 1991. The freshman guard was third on the team in knockdown blocks with 15, tied for the lead in touchdown blocks with five and allowed team lows in both pressures with four and sacks with two. He was also only flagged for only two penalties. He was selected as Colorado’s Male Freshman Athlete of the Year for all sports.

In 2004, Brian Daniels started all 13 games including the Houston Bowl at tight side guard. He earned honorable mention All-Big 12 from both the Associated Press and the league coaches. He graded out the highest of all the offensive linemen with an 82.3 percent grade for the season. His stats as a sophomore include 29 knockdown blocks, which led the team, and was called for the fewest penalties with only two. He allowed the fewest pressures with five and tied for the low in quarterback sacks with only ½ allowed.

Brian Daniels junior season saw his 23-game starting streak come to an end after he suffered a fractured rib and a bruised kidney in the season opener versus Colorado State. He still managed to appear in 11 games, all of which he started. In 640 snaps on the year, Daniels led the team with 29 knockdown blocks. His senior year saw him as one of the nation’s top interior linemen. The Sporting News named him second-team all-conference and the No. 17 guard nationally.

Brian Daniels was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings on May 3, 2007. He did not see any playing time for the 2007 season.
