Braden Jones was born on April 20, 1983 and attended Southern Illinois University. Jones was a key member of the Southern Illinois Saluki football team. In spite of injury, Braden Jones still played in 11 games and caught 16 passes (2 for touchdowns).

Braden Jones signed with the Minnesota Vikings in March of 2007, but saw little action with Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson taking up most of the playtime.
