Billy McMullen was born on March 8, 1980 in Richmond, Virginia. Played four years of college ball at Virginia. Was drafted in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Was traded to the Minnesota Vikings on May 18, 2006 for Hank Baskett.
NFL
Billy McMullen caught the first touchdown of his career when he caught a pass against the Arizona Cardinals on December 24, 2005. Started to bloom in 2006 with the Minnesota Vikings, when he caught a career high 23 balls for 307 yards. Caught two touchdowns on the year, one against Arizona on November 26 and one against Green bay on November 12, a career long 40-yard bomb.
College
Billy McMullen was a co-captain of his Virginia Cavaliers squad. Lead his team in receiving in four straight years, becoming the first Cavalier to do so. Finished his college career with 210 receptions for 2,978 yards, breaking Cavalier records in each category. 2002: Was All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection. 2001: All-ACC first-team selection while catching 83 balls for 1,060 yards and 12 touchdowns. 2000: Led team with 30 catches for 541 yards. 1999: Won team’s top freshman award. Led team with 28 catches and 483 yards despite being in a reserve role.

Billy McMullen attended Henrico High School in Richmond, Virginia, where he played three seasons. Caught79 passes for 1,566 and 24 touchdowns in his three-year career. Also played basketball, and as a senior was team’s MVP.
