Asher Allen was born on January 22, 1988 and grew up in Tucker, Georgia. He played football, basketball, and track in high school. In football, Asher Allen had an especially strong junior year when he completed 36 receptions for 432 yards and 5 touchdowns. That year, he also earned Coaches Choice All-State honors.

College

Asher Allen played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs football squad and amassed several honors. Some of these awards included the SEC Coaches’ Pre-season All-SEC Second Team, the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List, and the David C. Cooper Family Football Scholarship. Each year he was a solid starter and averaged 22.1 yards on kick-off returns.

NFL

Asher Allen was eligible for the 2009 NFL draft. The Minnesota Vikings drafted Asher Allen in the third round as the 86th pick.
