TCF Bank Stadium is the home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers Football Team. Opened for the 2009 Golden Gopher Football Season, TCF Bank Staduim is a state of the art open air football stadium that can accomodate up to 50,000 Gophers Fans with the potential to expand in the future. Prior to TCF Bank Stadium, the Golden Gophers Football Roster called the HHH Metrodome home.
The new stadium took the TCF Bank name because of TCF Financial Corporation's contribution of $35 million towards the stadium for naming rights, over a 25 year period. Other funding for TCF Bank Stadium came from a $12.50 per semester student fee, game day parking, donations from individuals as well as the income to the stadium for other events being held at TCF Bank Stadium, like concerts and private events.
The TCF Bank Stadium Seating Chart can seat 50,300 at capacity. This includes 39 suites, 59 loge boxes and 300 indoor club seats. The seats will be 19 inches with 33 inches between the rows. TCF Bank Stadium has the potential to expand up to 80,000 seats.
