New Orleans Saints are Super Bowl Champs; Largely Thanks to Vikings Nemesis Tracy PorterIf you were a Vikings fan watching the Super Bowl last night, you may have felt a little déjà vu. New Orleans Saints defensive back Tracy Porter intercepted Colts quarterback Payton Manning in dramatic fashion that changed game momentum, much like he intercepted Brett Favre for the NFC Championship game.
It wasn't Tracy Porter that won the game for the Saints, though. Most would say it was quarterback Drew Brees and the New Orleans flawless offense that upset the Indianapolis Colts 31-17. Drew Brees was the star of the game and earned the Super Bowl MVP Award and with 32 completed passes tied a Super Bowl record.

Vikings Pro Bowl BittersweetVikings Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen, Steve Hutchinson and Heath Farwell were all part of last nights Pro Bowl game. While each player enjoyed the honor of playing in the Pro Bowl, they couldn't help feeling bittersweet imagining what could have / should have been. Jared Allen had a big tackle for a four yard loss, but still seemed a little down and was quoted as saying, "yeah, we'd like to be playing next week."
Vikings fans would like to see their purple team playing next week as well because it doesn't get any bigger than the Super Bowl . . . maybe next year. Vikings Super Bowl Dreams OverIt seems as quickly as the hope for a Vikings Super Bowl appearance started, it ended. The Minnesota Vikings lost to the New Orleans Saints 28-31 in OT last night and it was heart breaking.
The biggest factor in the Vikings' overtime loss to the Saints was Minnesota's five turnovers. FIVE! You just can't turn the ball over that many times and come out on top. Brett Favre led the offense the best he could, but took a lot of hits and ended up throwing an interception to end regulation time. Overtime wasn't much better as the Saints won the coin toss and marched down the field for the winning field goal.
