Minnesota Vikings Players on the sideline celebrating

John Randle Hall of Fame

By Vikings Fan (02/15/2010 10:19 AM)

One of the highlights of the NFL post season for me was watching John Randle be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As a Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle John Randle was a superb player and feared by quarterbacks across the league. In 14 seasons, Randle recorded 114 sacks with the Minnesota Vikings and ranks third in team history and first for a defensive tackle.

John Randle started six straight Pro Bowls for the NFC while with the Vikings team and although he finished his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks, he will forever be a Minnesota Viking. Congrats John Randle! You deserve the Pro Football Hall of Fame honor.

New Orleans Saints are Super Bowl Champs; Largely Thanks to Vikings Nemesis Tracy Porter

By Vikings Fan (02/08/2010 11:20 AM)

If you were a Vikings fan watching the Super Bowl last night, you may have felt a little déjà vu. New Orleans Saints defensive back Tracy Porter intercepted Colts quarterback Payton Manning in dramatic fashion that changed game momentum, much like he intercepted Brett Favre for the NFC Championship game.

It wasn't Tracy Porter that won the game for the Saints, though. Most would say it was quarterback Drew Brees and the New Orleans flawless offense that upset the Indianapolis Colts 31-17. Drew Brees was the star of the game and earned the Super Bowl MVP Award and with 32 completed passes tied a Super Bowl record.

"We just believed in ourselves and we knew that we had an entire city and maybe an entire country behind us," Drew Brees said.

Congratulations to Drew Brees and the Super Bowl Champions New Orleans Saints, but you better watch out because next year it will be the Super Bowl Champions Minnesota Vikings shining in the spotlight.

Vikings Pro Bowl Bittersweet

By MN Vikings Fan (02/01/2010 02:26 PM)

Vikings Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen, Steve Hutchinson and Heath Farwell were all part of last nights Pro Bowl game. While each player enjoyed the honor of playing in the Pro Bowl, they couldn't help feeling bittersweet imagining what could have / should have been. Jared Allen had a big tackle for a four yard loss, but still seemed a little down and was quoted as saying, "yeah, we'd like to be playing next week."

Vikings fans would like to see their purple team playing next week as well because it doesn't get any bigger than the Super Bowl . . . maybe next year.
